Website For Tradies ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are
Website For Tradies is an Australian business that designs, builds, hosts and supports websites for tradespeople and local service operators across Australia.

2. What information we collect
When you submit our enquiry form, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your business name
- Your trade or service category
- Your state / service area
- Your mobile number
- Your email address
- Your current website (if any)
- Your goals for the website (free-text)
- The date and time of submission, and the URL the form was submitted from
We may also collect technical information automatically when you visit our site, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed. We don't currently use third-party analytics, but we may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in future and will update this policy if we do.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and discuss building your website
- Design, build, deliver and host your website if you choose to proceed
- Provide ongoing support and edits while you remain a customer
- Send service-related communications (e.g. billing, downtime notices, important policy changes)
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We don't send marketing email blasts.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers we use to operate the business, and only to the extent needed to do their job. These currently include:
- Formsubmit.co — receives the contents of your form submission and forwards it to our email inbox.
- Vercel — hosts our website and the websites we build for clients.
- Our payment processor (introduced once you become a paying customer) — handles your hosting subscription securely. We never see or store your full card number.
We may disclose information where required by law (e.g. in response to a valid court order) or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
5. How we store and protect your information
We use reputable third-party providers (listed above) that implement industry-standard security measures, including TLS encryption in transit and access controls. We retain your information for as long as it is needed to provide our services and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
If you withdraw from a build before going live, or cancel your subscription, you can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you (see Your rights below).
6. Cookies
This website uses minimal cookies. We don't currently set advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Embedded third-party services (such as Leaflet/OpenStreetMap map tiles and Google Fonts) may set their own cookies as part of loading their resources — we have no control over their cookie policies.
7. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it's wrong
- Ask us to delete it (subject to legal record-keeping obligations)
- Make a complaint about how we've handled your information
To exercise any of these rights, email lucas@websitefortradies.io. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
8. Children
Our service is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers.
